I think the most dangerous part about Earth Hour is the false sense of accomplishment that comes after.

Saving The Planet; All Within An Hour

How much good is one hour of darkness going to do the planet? Even if Earth Hour achieves or even exceeds its goal of 1 billion people turning off their lights, I doubt it will make much difference in the long-run. And awareness? I think there are more people taking Earth Hour as an excuse to party than there are those who are actually in it to prevent global warming. If you really do want to help, spend that hour looking up more practical ways to save the planet. You can do it in the dark if you want to.
